TEAM welcomed Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) and beneficiary representatives to the TEAM Orientation Conference, held in University College Dublin, Ireland from the 4th – 8th September 2017.  This was the first opportunity for all of the TEAM network to meet in person with other researchers, supervisors and experts in the programme.

Introductory talks were given by the TEAM Lead Investigators.  Many talks provided overviews to subject matters including Introduction to Design, Delivery and Data Mining.  Attendees were given an overview of clinical responses to mental illness in adolescents.   These talks were thought provoking  and offered an insight to the different disciplines the TEAM programme encompasses.   There were interactive sessions including research method tutorial, experimental design challenge and research ethics bingo that initiated group interaction and participation.

ESRs presented their Individual Research Projects (IRPs) and research activities-to-date to the group.    It was a great introduction to the participants who were offered an overview of the research being conducted in Austria, Denmark, Ireland, the UK and Spain.   The presentations offered a chance for researchers to build rapport with researchers from across the network and provided cross-collaboration opportunities.   Dissemination opportunities arose during the event as ESRs discussed the TEAM programme and IRPs with interested parties from the wider university community.

This was the first of many summer schools in the TEAM ITN programme.  We look forward to the next get together in June 2018.
