TEAM ITN researchers at the Marie Curie Alumni Association Conference and General Assembly will lead a mental health workshop for early stage researcher on the 24 February in Vienna, Austria.

This session will focus on the mental health of early stage researchers (ESRs). There is increasing recognition of the mental health challenges that can arise during this career stage. This session seeks to provide ESRs with a broad outline of key background research and policy in order to facilitate a focus group discussion regarding the experiences of ESRs. Facilitated by ESRs specialised in professional psychology and psychiatric research, the session will close with take-away self-care strategies to assist ESRs in achieving optimal mental health. This will include activities centred on mindfulness-based cognitive/dialectical behavioural therapy principles for emotional regulation and positive mental health. It is hoped that the outcomes from this session can assist with the future MCAA policy-making process for ESR mental health.
